Are health-related apps helpful with exercising and eating healthy?

In the ever-changing world of mobile technology and in the fast pace of today’s world, it can be difficult to manage your daily activities and shutterstock_197358377your health. Luckily, there’s an app for almost everything. From purchasing items from retail stores, to finding restaurants, to checking the weather, and tracking flights –  just to name a few, at the click of a button, instant access to things that can help make a mobile users life easier continues to change the way we live.

Now, more than ever we’re able to live a healthier lifestyle because our health is in our hands – in the form of a flashy button on our mobile device.

According to a recent study conducted by Ipsos Open Thinking Exchange, 82% of those in 27 countries who said they regularly use medical, health, or fitness—related apps rated them to be very or somewhat helpful when it comes to exercising while 79% said they’re helpful when it comes to eating healthier.  Sixty-eight percent indicated they’re helpful for losing weight/dieting, 65% believe they’re helpful for lowering stress levels, 62% said so about improving sleep, 61% said so about lowering their cholesterol, 59% said so about taking medication as prescribed, 57% said so about keeping appointments with doctors/health professionals and 48% stated health-related apps are helpful for not smoking.
